Freedom Engine has been mothballed from 2013 to sometime in the future
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=203265&b=47

Now that Freedom Engine has been mothballed for now. When does Version 108 (final) of AppGameKit come out and what is on the roadmap for the near future and farther future of AppGameKit?

Do we have a date for 108 yet?

AGK v1088 (beta) is already available from your TGC 'My Products' page.

Did you mean the non-beta release (probably v109)?

Beta or not, it's the same product, the released version will probably still have a million bugs. Should just drop the beta name, and call it version 1.8.8

Our current focus is on making V1.08 as stable as possible on Win, Mac , iOS and Android.

After that we'll be looking at Compiler improvements, Debugger / IDE issues.

As you have seen we are also developing AppGameKit apps which is helping us test the engine.

2013 is very much about ensuring AppGameKit is a stable, fast and reliable development tool.

when will we have gamecenter commands?

there are gamecenter commands in the latest 108 beta, but i don't know if they are placeholders or if they actually work...

I would love if I had support for linux (elf executable) deploy and html5 deploy

On the other hand, FreeDoom Engine had html5 deply, so why not add this feature to AppGameKit ??

Playbook will be supported, I've recently managed to get the 108 player running on it, although the new commands currently do nothing, it is still being worked on.

Great work Paul, as long as the Playbook AppGameKit is updated to AppGameKit one day or another, all will be great!

Will automated compile options be part of the IDE upgrades? Also a list of all labels would be a welcome addition, as large projects tend to get hard to navigate, especially when you return to them after a break.

^ what DVader said plus.

Conditional compilation in Tier 1 so that debug code can be omitted for release.

At the moment I use big easy to find comment blocks to quickly identify which bits to remove.

@DVader, Marl

Those would be very nice additions to Tier 1, but hasn't it been said repeatedly (by TGC staff), that these suggestions will not be picked up on these forums?

(The most likely reasoning why we have been asked to use the AppGameKit issues list is, that the TGC Developers don't want to bother writing down each suggestion by themselves or to have to go back searching for feature requests when they find the time to implement them! So they have asked, that all feature request (and bug reports) be left on the AppGameKit issues list at Google Project Hosting. People just keep forgetting this, and many request are "lost".)

So, maybe leave these as feature requests at the AGK Issues List.

Cheers,
AgentSam
