That's a nice tech demo! The overall presenation was nice (camera paths, music, ect.) What methods did you use for the motion blur ?(It came out very nice) Putting the current screen on a locked plain, turning off the backdrop and exploiting the redraw bug, or something else?

Very nice indeed I actually prefer the "low" version, but they're both good. Best use of a Quake3 map i've seen in ages

Cheers,

I'd say it was cool but I haven't seen it because my card doesn't support it!

we search for a solution of the MX problem ...

thanks for your regards

meff & kulle

ps: we do not use fx shaders for this demo, so we hope to solve
this problem (or evasion the dbp bug)

Thus the dll included in the package named blur.dll. Tell us how to use it, please

[Edit] Lagmaster found out that its an MS Word Document, you fooled us into believing it was an actual DLL, didnt you? I bet that bass dll is a fake too...

@Dragonfly

Sometimes when you start the demo you get a momentary flicker of rubbish on the screen - a problem which often occurs with Set Camera To Image (which I presume is being used here) for some reason, doing a double sync or filling the image with black first normally fixes it.

Very impressive demo

yes, the blur.dll is a fake. it's really a ms word doc file.
the bass.dll is needed to play the mod files in the sfx folder.

the blur effect is made with dbp functions. five plains locked
in front of the screen and updated with SET CAMERA TO IMAGE.
the delay for the 5 cams produced over CURVEANGLE (xyz angle of cam)
an CURVEVALUE (xyz position of cam). with GHOST OBJECT ON,
FADE OBJECT, SET ALPHA MAPPING ON ... you can manipulate the
plains for some effects.

@rob k
thy for the solution

How fast does this run, and would it run on a Radeon 7000 series?

Make sure you upgrade your drivers to Catalyst 3.8 or later, I experienced some crashes with Set Camera To Image with earlier drivers.

Am I the only one who's getting a 404 Error?

Edit: Got it off the TGC site anyway so nvm.

Nice, the whole thing ran a bit slow though (probably just my crappy computer lol). I've been wondering though, how exactly do you code Tech Demos? Because it's basically a set of linear instructions, I can't really think of how to put it into a loop. Anyone?
