DarkBASIC Discussion / Error when running Darkbasic programs

Hi,
When trying to run any program that was made in darkbasic classic (in exe form) on the computers at the college i go to i get the following error message:

System Error: ERROR 165.(..000. & Direct3D HAL) Failed to create a D3D Device from BackBuffer Surface

The computer spec is:
Intel Pentium iii 498MHz
128 Mb ram
ATI 3D RAGE PRO AGP 4Mb
Direct 8.1

Because its a college computer i cant try updating directX or other drivers, but if anyone knows what this means and how to overcome it please help!
