I have to agree with Mr Handy, for a campaign about animals the animals barely make an appearance. 3D animations might impress some people but it's not going to make them care about animals.
I'd rather see the lady with a few of the animals and explain their stories. The 3D cat (I will call Polly {get it?}) could still be used to pose questions and transition between the animals.
I think your idea of Polly speaking for the animals is a good one but you didn't really utilise it to make the viewer empathise. For example, Polly could be an abandoned cat that wants to be taken in by the society, so she could ask questions about what they would do for her. When the lady answers she could use the real animals in examples of how they are cared for. For example:
"Will I get to go outside and play?"
"Yes, we have a large garden for cats to play in and we give dogs like Lucy here regular walks."
"What if I get sick?"
"All our animals get regular check-ups and we make sure they are vaccinated..."
I don't know how well that would actually work but it's an idea.
If the customer is happy with it the way it is now then great, but I'd highly recommend getting some video of the animals to replace those still photos. (Luckily there were no names spoken so you don't have to find the same ones!) I think that simple change would make a big difference, maybe even have video of animals in some parts when the lady is talking.
