in dark basic classic, when you turn on windows mode, and you run the program, the screen flickers like when changing resolution, then it goes into a window. can you get rid of that? i want to write a few small games that run in windows mode, am i doing something wrong? while i'm here would anyone also happen to know how to disable window resizing, or is windows in db a lost cause altogether???

To stop the screen "Flickering" when teh window is activated, create a file called setup.ini and in it, put:

Then place the setup.ini file in teh same folder as the exe.

When the exe is run, it will automatically go into window mode without going fullscreen first (without it "flickering")

When you say "how to disable window resizing" what exactly do you mean? do you mean disable the user from resizing the window that the app/game is in by not allowing them to click the maximise button?

Hope I Helped...

ok, i did the setup.ini thing. it flickers once, but it doesn't change resolution or anything, its real quick, so i'm happy. thanks for that. as for resizing, thats is what i mean. i would like the maximize button to be disabled, as well as not resizing by dragging the mouse on the sides of the window

Yeah, you could do that, but then there's no close or minimise buttons.

The best way to do it would be to disable the title bar then make your own title bar, with only the close and minimise buttons, and positino it at the top of the window, and use commands like If MouseX() is on minimisebutton Minimize Window etc. etc.

Hope I Helped...
