from dice.. and EA

... i have no hopes for this sadly - it will just be cluttered with map packs and whatnot, splitting the community as much as possible

Well well - cool! But not from those companies - not in the current state of the market..

Dice are the ideal developer for this, Frostbite is the ideal engine.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out, it'll be huge no matter what - but at least there will be some decent action, at least it's being done with a capable engine.

I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more memes.

Fair enough - i'm just complaining about DLC policy - which, i suppose is more EAs fault.

I couldn't think of anyone better to develop this, if they keep what made BFII great, and use Frostbite as the engine then this game will be unreal.

Well, Battlefront was pretty much Battlefield with Star Wars models anyway, so it makes sense for DICE to have a go at it. Pretty excited for actual gameplay footage already, loved the first two Battlefront games.

So excited for this!

Battlefront II was the first FPS game I ever played (though I mostly played it in third-person view). I beat it so many times, and made custom games with ridiculous amounts of enemies (750, if I remember correctly) so that it would take me over an hour to play it out. Those were the days.

...I just realized that was all in '06. Almost ten years ago. Holy crap!

Anyways, so excited for this!

If EA seriously want to stop being the most hated publisher then this could be the game that saves their reputation.

The difficulty in learning is not acquiring new knowledge but relinquishing the old.

Yeah, if they do it right and let Dice make the game the way it should be - then it'll do no end of good for EA's rep... especially since MS are the new company to hate.

I'm not exactly a massive Star Wars fan, but I do like Battlefront - it's like being 7 again, playing in the sand pit with SW figures and AT-AT's and land speeders... Battlefront3 should be just like that, a massive Star Wars sandbox, and just let the gamers get on with it.

I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more memes.

Its EA. So it will have DLC map pack and micro-transaction support rather than modding.

The thing that worries me about this, is how well you could implement micro transactions into something like Battlefront.

It's a pity it's only 20-odd seconds of pre-rendered cinematic, though I did love Battlefield 2. DICE are a good developer, EA aren't a good publisher, though...

Am I the only person who finds it mildly annoying that a big game expo like E3 mostly shows pre-rendered stuff? Very rarely anything that shows off a little gameplay.

More interesting was the Arkham Origins link in the related videos at the end...until the non-Mark Hamill Joker showed up...

I hope you arent serious about that statement, because there's SO much gameplay reveals on E3, soo much.
