So I recently did a review on a game called Deer Hunter 1066, and I gave my best thoughts on it, yet I have no idea how to convey my feelings about the game. It's so... strange.

Anyhow, what do you guys think about the game? Yay or nay?

It's just so... strange.

I think it's because most modern games have really set the bar so high in terms of graphics and gameplay, that it becomes really odd to play a game so simple.

I don't think this is the most anything game of all time.
It's great that you are able to pick out quirky or interesting details in even a very simple game like this, but I feel you often overstate these as if it makes the game something special; which, let's be honest, it's not.

Kinda reminds me of the Slolem game where you always ultimately got eaten by bigfoot no matter how far you made it or how good you were.

it's kinnda just the hunting aspect of the oregano trail it would seem =P a bit... faster paced, but basicly that

This game does not look good or original or do anything different imo, I get the impression you love everything you play which is good for you

Those sound effects are probably used because they are free to use, unreal engine provides them freely to use in your own games, tons of games use these voice-overs as temporary placeholders. So the one thing that seemed different and quirky is probably just convenient for the developer.

Keep searching out those hidden gems for us, but this one does not do it for me, sorry
