So I thought of making a 2D point-and-click game, and since I didn't know where else to put this I am going to ask my fellow devs:

What software would be best for something like this, AppGameKit, DB pro, any other software perhaps?

Any ideas are helpful.

I'd suggest just using AppGameKit for it all. I mean, you have built in Box2D, for irregular shaped sprite collision, that would be incredibly useful in a point and click game. AppGameKit is geared up pretty nicely for a 2D point and click game I reckon.

AGK, for sure. Computers are getting to the point where in a couple of years, most DBP things won't work properly because it doesn't work above DirectX 9. I've already had significant trouble trying to run programs made with it on 7 and 8, but no issues with AppGameKit apps.

Plus, as Van B said, you're getting Box2D built in, which will help a LOT with a game like that.

For Monkey Island style try the Adventure Game Studio, it's designed for point-and-click specifically.

I reject your reality and substitute my own...
