So... it has a HDMI-in connector, and they had to confirm that they didn't manage to block the PS4's HDMI-out from going in there?
Sounds like «any» source sending over HDMI should be possible to connect to such a setup by definition, doesn't it...?

Wow, M$ adopted an industry standard!

This means that countless idiots will be posting about how the XBOne supports PS4 games, but the PS4 doesn't support XBOne games. I think I'll stay clear of youtube today.

I am the one who knocks...

I like this. Xbone > PS4 because Xbone can now play PS4 games but the PS4 can't play Xbone games.

Thumbs up if you agree.

I'm pretty sure BigAdd was being sarcastic.

Also, you should not drink-and-forum, never worked out for me in the past

I don't get it.

what's the point? Surely if you're an X-Bone fanboy you won't also be buying a Piss4.

Oh brother , core blimey... 'you can plug in your PS4, way-hay; you should purchase an XBox too.. so, that ... you can plug your PS4 into your XBox One ; much better than plugging it into a telly; we believe our product is superior because we know you have made the choice to buy the other one, so why not plug it in our one?'

Oh OK, I thought the XBone didn't have much decent games, I assumed the PS4 not being able to play XBox games was not much of a bad thing, since it seemed there weren't any decent games on the XBox One anyway; not yet anyway.

Would have thought this HDMI connection is dealling with video and sound feed, not actually gameplay using the XBox controllers etc??

Or, Idno, if you bought an Xbox, one of your friends a PS4 you could I dont know, play co-op at your house with PS4 games.
Crazy, isnt it?

I'm not with you Quik, sorry I am pretty dumb as you know, regarding these things.

Why would it benefit me to run the co-op game on two machines and not just play on one?

You can't play PS4 games on your Xbox. I was being facetious mimicking YouTube style comments after what VanB said.

I feel silly because I know there must be some form of benefit of using the XBox as a 'middle man'. I know that getting people talking about the product is all good business, but I am not sure why this was pointed out:

Quote: "Panello also confirmed that, using this setup, players can multi-task between the two rival consoles. "Any application can be snapped to a game... so if you wanted to be playing Ryse and Killzone at the same time, you could snap that," he said."

The question is how this differs from switching the HDMI channel on the TV? Would have been nice if he elaborated a bit more.

I think with the Xbox One, you can have two applications on the screen at the same time (like a split screen video game). One half of the screen could be the Xbox dashboard and the other could be the PS4.

From what I've seen of the Xbox One, it looks like a really great multimedia device, and an okay gaming device.
For people who want the best of both worlds, owning an Xbox One for the multimedia and PS4 for gaming, its good news for them as they'll have some form of 'interaction' between the two systems.

you could be playing a game on the PS4, whilst also using the Xbox One's split screen function to chat on skype.

Sounds like Microsoft desperation. "Look you can hook your PS4 to an XBox1 !"

Thinking of something witty to put here.

What would happen if you linked 93 Xbox Ones together, would the screen split 93 times? You could Skype your whole family at once, play a dozen games while watching the superbowl(whatever that is).

In all seriousness, I do like the look of the multimedia stuff, but I think that kind of thing may be standard soon in most TV's, digital boxes etc.
