hey all, i already released some of my projects
if its my plugins for dbp or apps i wrote for developers

now, im trying to go to different edge here..
how many of you listen music in your car?

i want to make a some kind of pool here, so i would know what exactly people intrested in

so, the pool is for people who listen to music in car or at work by plugin their phones into a stereo or even listening to music via headphones

just tell me if you do listen music, and wich device you use.
i use my SD card on my car and sometimes even using bluetooth.

the idea of my next project is really simple,
my project will download some random songs to your device while you using your keyword,
say, "Tiesto In the dark"
it will find and download all related musics into your device, something like the top 50 list that youtube generates for you.

and if its illegal, please comment, and tell me how to avoid it

I use bluetooth with andorid devices. But what you are saying is illegal. Maybe just make it so it streams to the device instead of downloading it directly to the device? If it downloads directly to the device it would be illegal.

Yes.

Downloading it would be stealing it and having a copy of it. Streaming it you do not have a copy of it. Streaming music off of youtube/pandora/spotify or anywhere is completely legal. So if his project would retrieve the music and stream it off of youtube or another site then it would be legal because you are not downloading and recieving a stolen copy.

But you still have to download it
May be piece by piece and deleting the previous pieces before receiving the last, but streaming is still a kind of downloading

Streaming can be illegal if there's no license for it. Spotify is paid for by ads and subscriptions, which means money goes to the artist and YouTube is funded by ads and same for many other services, though not all content on YouTube is legal, some of it does get taken down as a breach of copyright.

Likewise you can download music you purchase. Streaming is still technically downloading, it's just not permanently stored and is played back instantaneously.

Even if his software streams from YouTube/Spotify/etc. I suspect he'd need to review their terms of usage, because it may forbid third party application development or may have a certain stipulation for third party applications.

I think the application would be pointless. I have over 3000 songs. Clicking shuffle gives me random songs...

100% legal site to listen music for free (no download though)

http://music.yandex.ru/

You can make voice application that will work with this service and this will be legal.

and ofcorse ill limit the song list to 20 or 30 or so.. not sure yet.

I don't think any service would allow legal streaming to third party.

What I'd recommend is to make your app like a voice browser that opens legal content on legal service, i.e. you don't need any license in that case.

You wrote:

So basically you need to make a simple browser with voice recognition controls, the browser that will search music on certain free legal sites and will play that music.
