Hello all, sorry but the internet is refusing to cooperate with me tonight...

I'm looking for help in setting up an SVN server on my website. I have a local repository, but I figured if my laptop breaks, then I lose all my coding. Which is very poo.

So, no matter how had I've looked, I can't find a way to either move my existing repository online, or even creating a new one online.

Can any of you point me in the right direction??

You need a host that provides an SVN server. An SVN server is setup something akin to how an HTTP server would be setup. Here's a good list of opensource hosts:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_open-source_software_hosting_facilities

Or you need to run your own svn server, if you have full OS level access (fairly simple with some experience).

If your webhost offers Webdav you can setup a git repository.

My post disappeared from last night....

Anyways, you got my curious about this myself so I emailed my host last night. They said they won't offer support but I'm welcome to install subversion.

I use https://xp-dev.com/ for my SVN. I only back up code and keep media on DropBox /Box.com.
