Hey guys, Ludum Dare 29 takes place starting on the 25th! This event is a two-part game Jam and competition... From the description of the Ludum Dare website:

The Competition is the familiar “make a game in 48 hours solo competition” that Ludum Dare is known for. Specific details can be found below. After the competition ends, participants are given 3 weeks to play and rate games created by their peers. After those 3 weeks, winners are announced.

The Jam is the new “relaxed” Ludum Dare. It was created to make Ludum Dare even more inclusive. You can work in a team, borrow assets from your other projects, or do things that would normally be against the rules. You also get one extra day, giving you up to 72 hours to submit an entry. This is helpful for those times real life gets in the way, or for games that need just a bit more time to become something great.

So, anyone else considering participating? Does anyone want to create a team for the jam?

Being as my games from 2005 are still in progress, I doubt I could make a game in 48 hours!

I was thinking about using the weekend to finish my Nexus compo game, but I'd be interested in teaming up for a jam game.

I'm going to be following Quill18's progress. He has over a thousand viewers on his twitch live stream right now, that's a lot of pressure!
I have struggled to get anything made for the jams we've held on here so I think I really have to learn better planning before I try one of these.
I also need to find a better developing environment/language. I started learning C++ but the book I had was kinda boring. I'm behind on my maths studies though so bleh! should probably focus on that for now.
I could bash out some music pretty quick though if anyone is interested.

Anyone else watch Quill18's twitch stream? It was great, we got to watch a man descend into madness over two days! Chat was good too, lots of programmer/geek chatter going on. Here is the game Quill made: http://quill18.com/ld29/compo/

I watched his stream aswell, it was really nice and the end result is really impressive for a 48 hour game.

Did anyone here sucessfully make a game, I tried making one but I chose a to difficult/time consuming project so I never finished mine

Woah BMac, your game is awesome. Very similar to an idea I've been noodling around with for a few years!! Your implementation is wonderful, I get a real sense of the pressure as I go further down, and it actually had me wanting to play it more. Wish there were upgrade options and other towns to explore. Keep working on that one, I'd say!
