Hi there.

I'm relatively new to these FPSC stuff, so I'd like to know if it is possible to create a game like the GTA series, a game in which the character can use vehicles.

It would look more like Battlefield 2, I mean, it's an FPS game but kinda like a GTA 'cause you can use your team cars or steal enemy's car.

Hi Dr Schnellinger, welcome
The first thing that comes to mind is a mod Section812 made
that had "drivable" vehicles...http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=206974&b=21
See if this is of help, or at least get you started?
best of luck

You want to create a GTA styled game with FPSC? Then play gta 3 to get a feel for your look!

Then go away from fpsc! Learn to write in dark basic pro, use some plugins and create a fpsc level and import it into db pro! I know that Fpsc is a easy tool, but it is not for a gta styled game!

That´s why we all wait for reloaded!

To get it straight to the point: No.

If you want to work in indie-game-dev in general its good not to take too much inspiration from big-name videogames as its an impossible feed to accomplish.

AAA Games you can get inspiration from would be: Return to castle Wolfenstein, Chaser, Half Life, Arx Fatalis and their kind.

@Corno_1 I already have GTAIII and Vice City, and I'm tired of the same city over and over again.
DarkBASIC is not free, i don't feel like buying stuff on internet or even spending money on that.

@ncmako that looks cool, but... the version I have is a crappy one, it's v1. I guess I'll have to get the x10 version.

@Wolf I've played Half-Life... well kinda played it since it has no enemies 'cause it's in a folder under Counter-Strike folder.

FPSC isn't free to actually build games, you will only be able to play them in editor. x10 is more expensive but despite some nice shaders, the lack of support and new development direction doesnt make it worth the money to me. If you want a better FPSC experience, just shell out the tiny bit of dough it costs to buy it and update to v1.18 or v1.19 which is a much more stable complete build and able to create decent games. To see the upper extent of what you'd be able to create in FPSC: (assuming you learned the FPI scripting language and learned how to model, uvmap, rig, and texture in a 3d modelling program) click this link

making games is no easy task. beware what you're getting into and the hopeless addiction it may form

Hire Me! I model, animate, cook, clean, and texture!

Doubt TGC would find it all that witty, just keep throwing it out there

FPSCx9 is very limited in size. So drivable vehicles just wouldn't make sense.
