I see there are some problems with screen grabbing.
May I introduce the community to HyperCam? Its a free screengrabbing software worth to try

I recall downloading Blender but not sure if I did any testing. MoviePlus is great though. I had my video trimmed, cropped and stretched. Added bass to the audio. And exported. All in 15 minutes on the first time using it. The resulting quality was also higher than from Lightwoks.

However, it's still not good enough for an instruction video. I think I need to record in 720p. The IDE does not remember being resized, also seems like a waste to record in 1920x1200 and then crop away more than half. Since I need to capture a Windows program, Fraps seems only capable of recording the entire desctop. Is there any way I can set up a virtual desktop in 720p and record that with Fraps? I am using Windows 7.

Get Camtasia. It's worth it if you're serious.

Jim:
Couldn't find the PC version without the studio bundle. And that's really expensive. Even the Mac Camtasia is on the expensive side. I don't want to spend that kind of money yet. I don't know how serious I want to do this. Buying software and a good mic get a lot cheaper with a company and I don't want to start one without it making money. It's just too much extra paperwork.

I understand. The thing is, it really is the benchmark.

We've licensed some powerful video capture components for Delphi, so I may be able to assist late this year.

BTW, Camtasia still isn't a perfect solution as I still need to manually resize the IDE whenever I restart it. I think my best solution might just be to set my monitor to 720p for recording.

My soon uses OpenBroadcast to capture his Let's Plays and some he loads up like that to Youtube. And they looks great. But it took him a while to find the right settings.

Camtasia can automatically follow the mouse and zoom. I use it for training videos. 720p from full-screen works well - and if you are showing typing in an editor it will be very clear. The output format is very flexible and the editor lets you put titles and captions in etc.

My current setup works just fine as long as I don't run AppGameKit in full-screen 1980x1200 because the text becomes unclear when scaled down to 720p. I don't want to do a coding video where I zoom in and out. MoviePlus have all the functionality I need for editing. Will probably give it a try this weekend.

Digital Awakening, I've sent you an email about a MoviePlus offer.

If anyone else is interested in a decent video editor for £10.00 the limited offer is here. Product overview is here.

I've just found an excellent free, open-source screen-recording app. It's designed for Live streaming, but also records to disk and does a damn good job.

Thanks BatVink, I've been looking at alternatives lately and hadn't heard of this one.

It looks like it could be an alternative to Fraps too, it records games using your graphics hardware.

Good to know. I have not had the time to install MoviePlus yet. I'll be working full time nov-dec, had not expected that.
