Hi everyone,
I believe spike is inspired by a Silent Hill bad guy. Is that correct?
Can anyone help me with the others, and are any of the Viral Outbreak enemies specifically unique enough to use in a commercial release without people immediately associating with another game?
I don't play a lot of these games to recognize all of the bad guys but working in a survival mystery horror genre and would love to use Grendel and a few others if they are not so close to originals that it would seem cliché or copying.
Much appreciated!

I would think the decayed and grendel are the only unique characters, the others are inspired from Dead Space (Pincher) , silent hill (Spike) etc.

Well, I think so.

The tall guy with/out spikes is inspired from Resident Evil 4.... but the Grendel and the Decayed are the only characters being truly unique.

Decayed : Unique
Grendel : Unique
Spiky : Resident Evil 4's Iron Maiden
Jaws : Resident Evil 4's Regenerador
Pincher : Dead Space's Slasher
Medusa : Resident Evil 5's Mkono
