I am sure this has been asked to death but I can't seem to find the answer even through a forum or google search

My PC is P4 duel core 1.8 GHZ. 2 gigs of ram. Not the greatest by any stretch but a lot better than the Vaio laptop I was using. I was getting 25 FPS with that on a small level. With my current setup I only get 14 to 16 on a small level.

I didn't change anything after a fresh install. Shaders are off lightmapping to best performance.

What can I tweak in the setup ini or preferences to speed things up and still have good looking levels. I do plan to install the RPG Mod

That is a good tutorial and I bookmarked it. In the little level I made I had 9 4 segment buildings placed close together in a square. in between the buildings I put the ground texture down like streets and each building had 1 wooden door user that's it no lights or anything else and all I could get was 10 FPS.

This PC I am on now is 2 times + what the Vaio laptop was and I was getting 25 FPS on that with the same level. I know thatthere are some other things you can tweak in the setup ini or a cfg file or something I just don't remember what to change.

By chance, is your "post-process" set on (#1-4) in the setup.ini
or set to 0 (zero) ?
Also, what graphics card are you running?
