Hello guys,

I seem to be having a problem running the particle sandbox on my system. Shortly after purchase a few days ago, I have been unsuccessful in making it work in-spite of various system configuration changes including compatibility modes on windows 7 and even xp.

The basic specifications are Intel Celeron N2820 with Intel HD graphics, & 4gb of RAM.. The system is brand new and has no recorded issues (I run Unity Game engine with no problems). In other words, the application should run fine.

I have sent 3 emails to customer support, and had no reply or acknowledgement so far....

As you can understand, this is suddenly making me afraid of my AGK2 purchase too.

Can anyone please help ? As the lack of Customer Service acknowledgement is a little bit frustrating.

Thanks

Do you mean you can't run AppGameKit or you can't run the particle demo?

What precisely does it do when you try to run it. On my machine my antivirus would sometimes flag the executable as suspicious and would block it. I think it is due to how the data is packaged.

Same here, Kaspersky flags it as a virus and automatically deletes it. Would be nice if this were repackaged in a way to avoid this.

MSI installers are less likely to be blocked than EXEs.

isgltd - What is it doing? Does it run at all?

Sometimes virus protection programs will delete executables that don't have a large number of users - they flag it as "not frequently seen" and don't trust it.

Please respond with details on what happens when you try to run it.

- Rich

I just installed my copy of Particle Sandbox (Windows 8.1) and likewise cannot get the installed EXE to launch at all. No errors or alerts, just nothing happens when I try to launch. This includes running as admin and all compatibility modes. I do not have any antivirus software except MalwareBytes which does not indicate it has blocked it.

xCept - I'm not sure if the Smart Packer Pro version that I used works with windows 8, I don't have a windows 8 machine.

I'll see if I can get you a version that works though.

EDIT: I tried emailing you from the forum link for your email, but it could not be delivered. If you will send me an email from a good address, I'll try again.

Likewise, anyone who has purchased Particle Sandbox - if it won't run, email me and I'll see what I can do.

Hello guys!

Sorry for the late reply and many thanks for all your answers!

Just like xCept has mentioned, it simply does nothing when I double click on it, and even fails to load after messing around with compatibility settings quite a bit.

:-( It's a shame because AppGameKit 2 is simply amazing!

Quite simply the most capable 2D development solution on the market (and most underrated).

If you guys continue along this path with AppGameKit 2, the more popular solutions (drag and drop) will be in trouble soon!

But first! AppGameKit Sandbox must be fixed!

Many Thanks
