Hello AppGameKit comrades!

AppGameKit^2 is now officially out on Steam and to be purchased on TGC site. I am keen to know from the owners of v2 what crucial/important/significant improvements has v2 brought over v1? The v2 development blog seems to be quite large collection of change history and I don't bother to read it through, to put it frankly. What I'm most concerned about is that does v2 IDE has code completion/suggestor and function listing?

Thanks for any reply or recommendation towards the v2

If you can't be bothered to read the change list I can't be bothered to post it up here so you can't be bothered to read it gain.

LOL!
While Jim's statement is correct, I will answer your last question.

Yes!

And I recommend it totally.

Edit: There is a demo on steam, maybe you can bother yourself to try it?

The main improvements are great!

Biggest thing I'm thankful for is the new IDE based off of Geany, it actually works! The old one based on CodeBlocks crashed quite frequently and was a right pain in the arse to use!

Also, there are numerous speed increases, bug fixes, improved 3D Functionality (still no animation, but SoftMotion3D has a way around that!), and it's a pretty great product all around.

I highly recommend you get it!

The v2 IDE does function completion (and parameter information) and also does completion based on your own code (so if you define a function it will appear as well).

I don't know how AGK1 works but it is excellent. I updated the plugin for Sublime Text 2 but so far I haven't really felt the need to use it

Code Folding. This has made the purchase 110% worth the cost. Best feature ever.

Export to .APK and Export to .IPA. Amazing.

Also works beautifully on my Mac.

Auto-Complete. Excellent.

But mostly, Code Folding.

Don't forget the other new features like :
- IAP for android (google play)
- fullscreen shaders (bloom, blur, or other great stuff)
- SetRenderToImage() to draw on an image/sprite
- shader on sprite
- blendmode (additive) for sprite
- dynamic array (length, swap, remove, insert...)
- 2D skeleton ( load a spine file - spine is a software to make 2D animation with skeleton)
- tween
- and a lot of small but usefull additions (drawline(), ...

Agk : if you try it, you keep it

Thanks for your replies! I'm a happy owner of v1 but it's obvious it's a little crippled when it comes to features. I guess I'm going for the v2, then.

Is there any tutorials for v2 on how to make and use shaders and sprite blending since these techniques are not in my skill list, yet.

Thanks!
