Hi,

Just downloaded the latest version of AppGameKit 2 from the AppGameKit site. Installed fine but on running it, I got a malware report from Kaspersky. I've just gone to the quarantine area and it says: PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic was detected in agk.exe. Any clues? This came from the AppGameKit site so not sure if this is a bogus report or something that needs looking into?

Anyone else have any issues?

Do you know if this is a bogus report from it though? I'm guessing it is, given where the file was downloaded from but it feels wrong to ignore it without knowing for obvious reasons.

Whilst I'm here... what av software do you use?

Ok so I could check it with that as a test. Still curious if anyone else has had this.

Never seen a false positive from Malwarebytes myself.

Kaspersky is a trusted security suite. The fact that it is triggering on the installer is worrying.

Is there a way to whitelist the installer in Kaspersky? That might be the best solution for you.

Install went fine. It was when I ran it for the first time. I took it out of quarantine and re-scanned it and nothing was found. Wondering if it does something on first run that looks suspicious but is actually fine. I've read other false positives that are similar in kaspersky.

What is that statement based on exactly? Whatever. Anyhow, I have KIS installed myself and have not received any warnings about AppGameKit or it's installer.

It seems to report an unusually high number of false positives, according to the users of our software.

Yeah. Last year I had Kaspersky anti-virus and it was excellent. I got Kaspersky internet security this year and it's been nothing but trouble. I used to use Malwarebytes but my father had a trojan get through so I lost some faith in it. AVG positively hid the fact that by default you were entering a subscription so I lost all faith in them (felt like exactly a scam which for anti-virus software is rather ironic!). It seems to be a tricky one to get right.

What software do you write?
