Have you installed the latest DB upgrade ?

the error is something like "cannot create backbuffer from d3d surface" or something like that(im at school now,so i'll check when i get home)

You may need a new video card to run DBP. I think that's the card that my father has that won't work for my DBP apps. "ATI RAGE 128 PRO GL" under WinXP Home.

is the Xp machine running directx 9?, sounds like dx attempted to start a older version interface and failed, dx8.x and 7.x are supported by 9.....but they have issues with some apps, mainly because the dx 7 and 8 versions are faked by 9, rather than dx containing the actual original code for 7 and 8, it just "emulates", and sometimes the emulation is not good enough for whatever the original code was trying to do, if you just have 8.1 on the Xp machine then it should run, have you tried running it under win95 or 98 compatability?, (right click the program icon and then go to properties and then the compatability tab, then select one of the older OS`s).

Mentor.

System spec : Pentium 3.0Ghz, 512MB DDR, 2x160Gb HD`s, DVD RW/CD RW (all modes), multimedia front panel, 6 way surround sound, ATI radeon 9800 128mb.
