Hmm, I notice that Rich is cunningly avoiding posting anythign to do with the "DBPro 5.2 + Physics" icon on his Desktop... lol...

Here's Mine:

As you can tell, it's rather blank atm, normally it has more icons on it than can fit ( because, I am like Rich said, I use the desktop to easily access files ). But, I formatted my HDD yesterday, so it's kind of blank atm... Give it a few days though... lol...

PS the image was made by the guy @ SuperCheifSoftware.com ( Hence the sig in the top-right ) who is also redesigning my website for me as we speak ( write... post... whatever )...

The image wasn't showing up for me either, so i just right-clicked it and got the adress and opened it in a new window...

I might have to look into that theme thingo... Thanks for the inspiration.

Just worked on mine, I think. Don't know why freewebs won't work for my avatar, though. Can you tell me if you could see the above image in my post? If not then I'll remove it and leave the link.

I can't see it, no...

Freewebs does allow hotlinking cos my avatar, and old sig, and above desktop images are all on a freewebs site... I think it's just the file type you use... Try opening up the image in MS Paint then selecting Save As >> *.png which is what i always use... and it always works...

Hope I Helped...

Thank you so very much JessT!!! Perhaps freewebs _does_ allow hotlinking, as long as it doesn't "recognize" the file type (PNG, BMP, etc). Of course, the file transfer limit means that my files might dissappear soon...

how is Rich avoiding the "DBPro 5.2 + Physics" question, unless you've been living under a Rock in DBP Land; you'll already know that TGC is currently working on a Physics Plugin, which is due out sometime within the next 6months i believe.
further more several of the better DBDN coders are currently putting this new system through it's paces; although you can't get information out of them for obvious reasons, one thing i do know is that it is liked by the testers.

I also know that it is being created by someone who has done physics in other professional games, so althought it may not have the "made with Havok" tag on it; it will still be upto some very decent spec

Nope, its still very fast - takes around 1 minute (probably less) to boot up, including trying to boot from both CD drives and a MFT defrag.

The secret is to do a weekly dedrag, scandisk and virus scan, plus remove all unwanted services. In addition, increase the pre-fetch level, and stop the scanning of schedules over the network.

Well, as I wasn't timing it, it was only a guess - besides I said it was probably less. As for Hibernate - never use it - too unreliable. Most of the time was while the computer was trying to boot of the CD drives.
