not unless you re-wrote the core 3d engine, if you could do that then you wouldn`t need DB, you`d be a 3d coding god in your own right

,some of the guys wrote a OGL dll that allowed you to use OpenGL and there have been rumours you can get it to sort-of run in Linux with the right emulation and Xlib or something, but nothing that is provable or followed up, I think you still need directx to use the OGL dll though.
