@Mussi: If not, you could easily convert the FVF format (convert object fvf).

Your system needs to be able to run DBPro apps created with DBPro Patch 5.2. The resulting files *I think* can be loaded in DBPro Patch 4.0 or later.

Mister Mold Rat,

I have had that problem too on 1 particular model, it turned out to be a problem with the model itself. I re-exported mine from the modelling program and it worked fine.

Try another model, or try using a different exporter from whatever program you made it with.

haven't read the entire thread but have u gotten .3ds => .dbo working yet? i convert .x files and they work perfectly but when i convert it's .3ds equivalent the animation interpolations come out all wrong...

Hello Rob k, I was wondering if it converts vertex colour information across from an x file to the dbo format?
Also if the answer is yes would I have to install u5.2? I hav'nt as yet because I've seen people moaning on the forum about having to triangulate meshes to get them to work in u5.2. (Im having no problems in 5.1 so I hav'nt updated).

The converter was produced with U5.2, if the model loads with vertex colours in U5.2, it should load in the converter.

I wish they would sell dark matter objects like this. It says you can only distribute them in .x format

"Dark Basic Users (End Users) are however authorized to distribute or sell (royalty free) any Dark Basic application that contains the said models or derivatives in the .x file format only."

I really wouldn't worry, I'm positive that TGC would not object to the distribution of DM models in DBO format.

The reason for this clause is that there are very few editors which can import the X format, so it would be harder to edit them. This is also true of the DBO format at present - therefore there is little reason for TGC to panic.

I am pretty sure they wouldn't like that. I don't think there is much they could do about a patcher though.

It's really easy to do with a resource editor perhaps you should do a step by step guide instead.

no dbo is a dbpro thing not a dark basic classic format.
