I'd be willing to give this a shot as well, provided the questions don't get too advanced. I live in Ohio, USofA.

@Penfold; wtf? What planet are you on man? lol.

@Eternal Darkness; Yeah, time zones, but most of the time i spend on the computer is at night which is day time everywhere else, lol.

But, I can't guarentee a stable timetable. I have to work, and go to school, and do other commitments too. But, inbetween ( and I can try and make it the same time each week ) we can go wild
lol.

@Penfold, It's cool man, you just have to make sure you put a "j/k" after your post, then we know you're joking... lol

@Eternal Darkness, well, so far it appears that it's going to be me an Phaelax teaching just you how to code... If you could recruit some more coders then we could get it underway properly.

Jess.

So like a public chat for teaching DB? Good idea.
I personally like Yahoo, the interface is easy but it's still powerful. A public DarkBasic chatroom would be a neat idea. Computers->User Rooms.

I could set up a simple chat room on my website... Something in Java or possibly php, or even Flash, depending on what internet connections you guys have...

I could do it pretty quick too, but I won't unless you want me to?

Hey all.. I've got darkbasic for a year now.. but just a month or 2 ago i start programming with it. Now i'll start getting some things.. i'm really enjoying myself. Only my learning progress goes really slow when i'm doing it like i am doing it now. So i'll want to be in that "classroom" ass well.. I've got msn.. i've also got an yahoo account but i don't got yahoo messenger. I like msn better anyway. Please let me know how we are going to do it.

We can always use the IRC server that the current chatroom is on. Just make the channel DBTutor# or something.

@Exeat, I tried uploading a few different IRC modules, and they just gave me headaches, so I uploaded a self-standing chat module, and a source code uploader ( so that we can share source code with eachother )

Chat ~ http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~jessticular/chat/login.php

Source Uploader ~ http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~jessticular/source/source.php

Notes ~ The chat login is case sensitive so macke sure you get it right before complaingin ( and, yes, I will be able to see all your acounts if you need help )
Also, it was made by a german fella, so all the warngings etc are in German but, other than that, it's a pretty good client.

The Source Uploader, I will give you the username and password in private so that my server doesn't get flooded by idiots... ( refering to those that take pleasure in doing stuff like make other people's lives difficult )

Please don't abuse either system or I will remove them. Thanks.

Jess.

Ahh, German, I was going to say: "Exeat betritt den Chat!" didn't sound too good.

I don't really like the fact that it's PHP based, it makes the browser refresh every 5 seconds which is quite annoying. Oh well.

Yes, I know... I find that the most annoying thing out of the lot ( the german i can handle )

If anyone here with a bit of scripting knoledge wants to suggest a way to stop it from habing to refresh ( ie, update without refresh which is possible using the javascript command setexpression() ) then, i'd be very gratefull

Thanks. Jess.

I dont think I like that chat, Jess. I get a runtime error popup everytime it refreshes.

edit:
Ok, that was on a school computer. Tested it at home, and it works.
But the clickity clicking of the refresh is a bit annoying. I think an IRC channel might be better. What you guys think?

Damn... Hmm, what browser are you using?

I'm currently installing a mySQL database system, and *hopefully* I can install a much better chat system that uses mySQL and wouldn't have any problems ( hopefully )...

Also, if anyone has any ideas of what topics they would like to cover, let us know. There might be something that requires a little research, and it would be helpful for me to do that ahead of time.

Phaelax i was thinking mybe we all should make a group game (similar to the "eternal destiny" one the moderators are making but obviously not as advanced, it would be good practice and add to the fun of the db tutor.

we could all get different parts.

help each other on ideas on sniplets.

let me know what u think guys
