O.K. I just got DarkBASIC (FINALLY!!!) and I do not know where to start. I want to start on something easy (Obviously I'm not going to be able to make the next Halo on my first try, and probobly not even on my 100th try) such as a simple pong game or something like that. Or would it be easier to find an existing game and modify it to do curtain things that I want. So I have three questions:

1) What is a good game to create for beginners?

2) Would it be better to modify existing code from soneone elses work?

3) What are some good tutorials that would teach me how to start a game?

Thanks in advance!

I think ill try to make both games, first a pong game(which i think will be easier than a space invaders clone) then the space incaders clone. Does anyone know of or have any code for a simple gmae that they could give me to modify?
Thanks

A space Invaders clone would probably be easier, as you don't have to worry about as indepth AI as there needs to be in pong, and the angle of reflection when the ball hits the paddle etc.

Also, If you wish to modify someone elses code, have a look at the examples that come with DarkBASIC itself, they are extremely handy.

Just try to learn the commands, and Impliment them one at a time.

For example, make a cube, then, make it move, then, make it controlable with the keyboard, then, make the camera follow it, etc. etc.

Hope I Helped...
Jess.
