I recently ourchased dark basic but can not get it to run any programs not even the tutorials. I had used the demo on my laptop when i had win2000 but have now upgraded to win XP and i keep getting this error message:
Quote: "System Error: Surfaces could be created. D3D devices do not support backbuffer bit-depth and HW acceleration"

I have read the forums and saw the setup.ini clue bit that didn't help..the only other one is the go back to directx 8..not sure i want to do that...maybe there something simplier?

i also tried run in diff compatability modes...didn;t really think that would help and it didn't...

Any help would be appreciated..thanks

what graphics card do you have?
it sounds lik the one you have in ur desktop isnt enought to run db(tho db doesnt need much to run)

um i use xp and know of others who do so it might be with ur specific card

um yeah im not too sure, maybe if u look at the spec's of db and see if ur card can handle them
