hi, for some reason my objects aren't loading properly into dbc!

i have made them in 3ds max4, they have limbs and a heirachy and animations. This has always worked for me before and i havn't done anything differently but for some reason when i load them, they dont get drawn to the screen and they have no limbs or data, i am totally clueless as to what is wrong..

anyone got any ideas?

thanx alot

What format are the models? .x or .3ds?

( I am assuming .3ds ) I think you should either try exporting it as .x or exporting it as .3ds and find a converter that supports animation convertions.

Also, if you have set the object up with limbs etc that doesn't make it all a single object, then DB will have issues with it. It only uses limbs when you specify them, it can not import them all as one model, you have to export them individually then open them in DB and set up the limb system.

Hope I Helped...
Jess.

err you can load limbs into db!! (it is a 3ds)

all the darkmatter models have limbs and they load fine, i have tried converting it to a .x with deep exploration but it still didn't load

Yeah, they have limbs, but they're attached to the model, as a single model, aren't they ( I'm not too sure, as I don't have DarkMATTER ).

I'm sorry if I gave incorrect information.

Jess.

I've had objects that crash DB, or don't load properly, and I sometimes have no idea why, but I think it has something to do with holes in the model, or faces that are crossed over each other/ overlapping. It is often difficult to be sure.

i think i have found out why, darkbasic has a maximum amount of limbs it can accept, any more and it doesn't load them or draw them. This probably means that because all the limbs are linked, if there are more than db accepts then the data is not read in correctly..

im gonna have a little play and test out this theory, i know db does have a max limb count and i think its around 70 or sumthing... im sure my player model has much less than this tho..
