This particle engine has been in development for a while now, but I got bored of waiting for me to make the editor so here is a small demo.

I've pretty much finished the engine (just save and load to do), but I will release it once I've finished the editor. This effect (actually it's 2 or 3 effects) is created using around 44 commands, although it will be possible with just 2 once loading is done.

Enjoy.

I also have that policy most of the time, I decided to post then have dinner then upload a screen. It's there now, along with a .zip file for those of you who like huge download times. Happy now!!!

Not everyone has broadband (although I do )...

Cool, its a very high poly and texture effect so that's why it's 50fps.

I did it in 10.

Very nice system Hamish, though at the moment the same effect could possible be created using DBP particles and custom images. However, if more patterns etc. get put in it could be a very useful system.

That is just a demo of what you can do. You can also do other stuff that you cannot do with DBPro particles. Here is a full list of the features...

I am probably going to add support for speed and angle based emissions, rather than the velocity along all 3 axis.

p.s. It appears lags server is down . Hopefully it will be up again soon

Unfortunatly no, the main reason is it relies heavily on types and would be a big pain to convert to dbc. The engine will obviously be open source , so if someone really felt like converting it they could try, although some features would be un-available to dbc.

Maybe I should make a demo to show all the other features ...
