i have not yet finished programming my game but i would like to know how big it will compile. short of fixing all the syntax errors and the like and then compiling the whole thing to a .exe how do i find the size the file will be?

Well, to answer your question. It's a great mistery . It depends on if you make a final that doesn't need picture's, models, music in the folder (it has all of it in the .exe file himself). And why darkbasic .exe files get big is because there comes a whole line of code in front of the .exe program to recognize the darkbasic code. But some coder designed a program for it, that makes the .exe real smaller. You could check that in code snippits. And yeah.. how big you program is going to be... well.. a basic darkbasic program without the media in it is usually 1-2 MB. So.. there's your answer. But if you want to make sure.. just code it all.. make an .exe and you see how big it is.

Hope i've helped,

I generally just right click the folder everthing is in and click properties and look at the file size of the entire holding folder, thats generally close enough for me.

Depends if you're adding media to be included in the .exe.

dark basic does not compile to binary so the darkbasic compiler is included in your finished program which is why darkbasic programs are so LaRgE! DBPRO doesn't do that methinks. hope i helped
