the error checker in db should be more helpful, if the error is in an include file then it should say which include file and give the line number within the include file and not general line number. whenever i get an error in an include file i have to individually comment each include statement in turn to work out which one is wrong. and then copy all the other include statements and dim commands from my main program into each individual function in the include file and then compile.

there must be an easier way.

thanks

Use a different IDE which adds includes to the main source, instead of having them seperate. The IDE can then show you the exact line number (see sig).
