When moving the camera in my game using my home pc (geforce4), everything moves smoothly. But when I play it on my top spec new pc at work, which has winXP and Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card, everything kind of judders when there is motion on screen. The frame rate is always good though.

Im sure i have the latest drivers, so has this happened to anyone else and perhaps knows a solution?

Thanks
Kentaree

Are you manually calling sync? This can make a lot of difference.

I would be unstoppable if I could just get started...

a similar thing happend to me. when i built my new PC, it had 2Ghz, winXP pro, 128mb graphics, 512 ram etc but when running sum code, it would take a while to load the code, no matter what the size, and when i was finished testing the code and pushed F12, i would wait another while to load back into dbc. But whereas before on my old machine with less that 1/2 the above specs did the same thing it would run very smoothly. there was me thinking i was the only person with that problem.

Heres my sync code Kentaree.....

Mark3D the only time ive had this long loading problem is because ive had a cd in my cd drive!? But i think it depends how good your drive is, as this doesnt happen on all the computers ive tested.

Strange, but I have had a similar problem. I have 2 computers, one runs stuff pretty well, it is a 2000+ athlon, 512MB Geforce 2 Ultra 64MB video, win98. The other struggles on things my older machine laughs at, it is an athlon 2400+, 1 Gig mem, Geforce 5900 Ultra 256MB video, win xp.
Normally I would just assume that is a problem with winxp and DB, but when I take the code and test it on another machine with Xp on it runs fine! So what's causing that? Never managed to fix it despite replacing pretty much every part of the computer except the case. Originally the sytem was a 2000+ cpu and a geforce 3 Video, plus it had a different motherboard, memory, power supply etc. So you may have the same problem I have. Can't help you though, sorry. I'm as stuck as you.

One thing I've noticed is that sometimes updating your video drivers to the latest version isn't always the best way to go.
Try rolling your drivers back one version that has been release for a little while ( thus has been optimised ).

Also, your comparison between XP on your computer, and XP on your friends computer isn't valid, as XP is a M$ product for starters, so that casuses a problem, lol. Also, all the XP updates that might have been installed on your version of XP can bottleneck your system something feirce...

Hope I Helped...
Jess.
