Hey all,
I'm making this game for a competition where you have to shoot at Gordon Freeman(from the half-life games.) I copied a pic of him from the net but dont know if I can use it coz of copyright n all that. I read another post a while ago that if you change a pic, even just one pixel, you'll be okay. I'm gonna change the eyes so there red but would this be any more legal. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that if the original image has been copywrited, then any and all modifications to the image will be an infringement... But, don't hold me to my word...

You're better off just getting another pic of something/someone else that isn't copywrited, and modifying that so that it looks like what you want, that way you're in the clear.

Hope I Helped...
Jess.

If you are very bad at this you could find some one to draw them for you. I'm sure there are many people who are good at this.

or you could just ask the people who own the copyright if you can use it? email them and save+print off the email reply you get, if they let you use it, stick an "all images are used with permission of the copyright holder(s)" in your readme, if anyone questions it you have a electronic copy of the email and a hard copy on paper...

In the beginning, the universe was created...
This made alot of people very angry and it has been widely regarded as a bad idea...
