Ok i have a model, H-pistol-static.3ds. since this is a 3ds file, can i make a bullet limb and then animate ti to shoot the bullet?

You can do that, but it probably would not run well in a game. Instead try using the commands that tell you the position of certain limbs (for example, a gun) and you can then position the bullet at the tip of the barrel of the gun, then when you flag the "gun firing" variable let it fly out into space for as long as you decide to let it go. All of this done in code, of course.

Or you could make an animated version using 3DS Max or something, and then to fire the bullet just use 'Play Object'...

But, then again, from the sound of your writing I get the feeling it's just a file you've got hanging around or something...
