Finaly i did a video codec for Darkbasic Classic.
Maybe it will work with pro but i dont sure.
If the screen structure is
the same (get backbuffer ptr) then it will work.

There is a two programms a codec which takes your avi
and convert it into my format.

The second is a DLL which you can load in Darkbasic
to play your videos.
Supports sound.

The WEB page will be avialible soon.

Yeah I care. Seems pretty cool. I would also like to see a demo of it in action.

Is it done? Where's the download?
Sounds Cool, but can't DB already play videos?

I use video in my projects, i'm interested to hear more of your codec.

What is it optimised for, how do file sizes compare to other codec's and what is the cpu hit of a running animation? How does it cope with fullscreen movie playback v's mpg (and filesize)?

Is it suited for animated textures (OK not under DBP5.2 because of the delay in texturing objects)?

Please, tell me more - or give me a download link

God created the world in 7 days, but we're still waiting for the patch.

Sorry fo rkinda large silence.
There is no e_nail notification.

Well the codec size comparing to indeo for example is the same.
You can define image quality , compression rate and motion search
presicion . Ther is also keyframes.
And password ( you will no be able to play the video if you
don write correct password in the function in darkbasic when
you call it )

The speed is pretty much the same as indeo.
You can run it at 20 fps using 640x480 resolution on my PIII450
but i think its too much so you can strech the video.
for example 640x240 video you can stretch as 640x480
i think its a optiomal way.

There is a some limitations of cource.
The screen resolution width must be the same as you movie resolution.
The is no sund support.
You can insert a sound file inside the video.
And DLL allows you any information you need to acces this info.
But how to pay and how make a syncronization you have to think on
you own.

This is my goal for now. Make an audion and video syncronization usin winmm.dll

I think it will be work exelent.
But stikk it complex algorytm.

If someone want to see the demo its about 1.3 mb mail me.
Or its much smaller i can send you the DEMO DLL with sources of
how to play video in DB there is also a simple help file.
Excuse my englis i will be very greatefull if someone coreect my
errors in the text.

Mail me niksalian@tutopia.com
