i will soon

I'm going to try and make something like a kind of complete-and-yet-free-DarkBasic-game-creating-suite or something, using Magic World as the world/level editor because it's *BRILLIANT*

For me, Magic World is the MatEdit of world creating

If you are going to change the code, then make it possible to change the path of the objects, cause if I made the game in one folder, and the finished game is installed in another, the map file still refers to the path where I originally made the game.
Hope this makes sense

I am currently using the code to help me with my own level editor which should have a demo released soon.

Mr Tricks, I took a look at the MW source and from what I saw you just pasted images for the UI, and the reason the background is black is because you got COLOR BACKDROP to work?

Hey robin, could you tell me how to change the path of the objects, cause I have to install the finished game in the exact same path as the objects was found at the moment of map creation. is there a program that can open the map file source? so I can edit the path myself?

Like I say, I can't remember much. The code is very messy as it was my first program - it's all in the one .dba file, with very little segmenting or notations. The file format for .mwdb is coded right in with the save code I think, or you could look at the LoadMagic() function program and work out the file format.

Oh hang on I see what you mean. I can't remember now if it's saved as text lines or bytes and such. Probably the latter - in which case you could again look through the LoadMagic() function and write yourself a simple program that allows you to edit the .mwdb files as text files...
