Hi

I am trying to learn how to do as many things as possible in DB so that maybe I can start a good game. One question that has bugged me is how to create undergrowth, you know the stuff you see in games like Battlefield vietnam, and far cry. Mostly it is just 2D grass sprites that stick up from the terrain. My quesion is how would I go about creating this type of grass and using it to cover a matrix or an object.

Thanks

Basically create the texture for it. You'll probably find using Paint Shop Pro or something like that easier because you can save the transparency in a .png. So you make your picture of a blade of grass, probably just a few strips of green placed apart, and then you make a plain and texture the grass image onto it. Then you can position and rotate the plain as you like it.
