Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good (+free) sprite editor? Preferably one that can handle some animation and output sprite sheets. I'm sure I saw one on the forum once, did a search but couldn't see it.

Cheers

You can get 20 versions of all singing all dancing pro quality digital video/photography/3dconstruction programs, but Ive never come accross any program that could do what Deluxe Paint does. That is, I set the number of frames, press a key to advance, press a key to retreat, then press another to play. I actually use deluxe paint to do my sprite anims, but it runs in a really crappy mode that only lets you see it in 320x260 mode, which is very onnoying, and the colours are a bit wierd.

If anyone knows about a good 2d anim package let me know!

Hi there

I use pro motion for 2d work, here is the link http://www.cosmigo.com/promotion/index.php, download the trial version, its a bit like DPaint on the Amiga. You need to purchase the full version, but i feel this is a good sound 2d sprite editor and am happy with it

Kind regards

Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop do everything that Deluxe Paint did and more. Not downplaying Deluxe Paint at all...I still actually use it when I load up UAE and goof off with AMOS Professional.
