I've downloaded many of the showcase demos to see what people can do with darkBASIC but every time I get a Runtime Error. My little laptop is no work-horse but I'm sure it exceeds the min requirements by a little. Are these demos and games shooting for a low common denominator or are they pretty computing intensive? The screenshots look impressive though .

laptops dont usually have a decent 3d graphics card unless its near 6 months old or earlier.

what video card is your machine.?
if its onboard and uses real ram as an intermediate solution then your up $h!t creek mate for the high end effects.

Hey, just read your message. Thanks for the response. If you're interested in knowing, DirectX 9 is installed and I think my Trident video card has 16 MB of video mem but my laptop is about 5 years old so maybe I'll just have to upgrade, I need to anyway. If anyone has any other suggestions though I appreciate it.

Scratch that, I double checked and the integrated Trident Cyberblade has 2.5 MB of integrated mem and I don't know if it shares any physical mem (I don't think it does). This is probably not enough mem, is it?
