Im in the process of making a matrix editor and i thought i would want to know some features to include so here i am.

Q:What features would you want to see in a matrix editor?

Well its more than likely you will get flamed.

Only post here if you have something to show otherwise you look like a total idiot. If you have screenshots put them up if you dont then your not ready to post here.

i have somthing to show but have two problems at the mo.

A)My website is screwing up so i cant upload anything on there at the mo
B)It's a 4mb file just for an interface and some basic features

so once ive got A sorted i will have somthing more substantial to show!

The one thing that has always bugged me about matrix editors in DB is that they usually dont allow you to put your mouse over an area and drag it up or down to create hills of dips. The usually rely on the arrow keys to move a cursor over the terrain, this to me is buggy and unpracticall. Pleas make it were you can edit terrain with your mouse and not with arrow keys. Also if it is not for DBC please make it for DBC thats what I use. And to Hamish, who cares if he didnt poste in the right spot, I hate when people say "you shouldnt post here, or go post this somewere els", he already posted here so live with it, and in stead of scolding him for a mistake try and give him an answer to his question.

I had that idea it shouldnt be that hard to do


Work has stopped at the mo cause my computers power on/off button is scrwed up. it turns itself on and off automatically and sometimes wont even load windows!!!

options window to change matrix size/cammera speed etc
texture library
point edit
load/save matrix

object placement
texture objects
different tile textures
