hi all

ive got a small taster of the game on working on.

file: 2.7mb http://www.morloc.dsl.pipex.com/shooter.zip

Things to note are:
1)its my first program
2)no where near finished lol
3)you can fire using mouse1 and reload with mouse2 (you can run out of bullets in a clip)
4)bat cant be killed at moment.
5)creatures positions are only for code testing
6)no time or anything at the moment.

i think thats enough. give it a whirl id like to know if it really lags on peoples pc's as its ok on mine. plus anything else

Man thats pretty fun and playable, the only problem is that it lags when the enemy is close to you.

Note: That Reload voice sounds like Time Crisis

thanks for the feedback. I have too noticed the closeup enemy lags a little. At the moment the enemies are just random but once i get the code more advanced i will have a data string that determines their order and I will make sure the close up enemy will be the only one onscreen when it appears. (this should solve this) I want him to be bigger too (to make you jump)

Still got shed loads to do but the good thing is that once ive got the code done then different levels stages is alot easier to do.

glad you like

Enjoyed that well played - same problem as Fido though when that big fella comes up at the front it lags a bit.

My spec of PC is Sony Vaio Laptop - 2.81 Ghz Pentium 4, 512 Meg RAM, GForce FX 5200.

It's a fun game and very well presented I have to say

very nice although the menu makes it look like a fps and inage its more like a arcade game :-P

but its very nice nice sounds shooting and all, i found the mouse was a bit too slow for my liking and the monsters should shrow something at you and you have to shoot it to avoid being hit that would add a certain elemt to the game.

Hmm that screenshot looks oddly familiar to Serj from System of a Down ...

But good job for your first program, let us all know when you finish it.

Doesn't work for me. I see 2 enemies pop up (very fast) and the game exits. Maybe my pc is too fast? Couldn't get a screenshot from it.

hi all

ive had a few people comment on the mouse movement. i think this may be down to how dbc handles the mouse x,y. I think i will look at recoding the mouse to see if i can speed it up.

The enemies atm are just for testing, I hope to have different types which will shoot at you , lowering your health (im working on that now) The bat will drop power ups or bonus letters when hit. ther will also be other objects on each stage that can be shot to reveal things.

Vash youre correct this face is indeed Serj. Its only temporary until i can get a better face.

As for your crash Den , all i can put it down to is your pc (nice spec too)
