Hey all,
i was just wondering how i would go about making a chat room program for my friends website. Basically, People run the program that connects to his server or if its down, pier-to-pier so that they can basically chat.

How would the code be structured? How would the text be placed on the screen and how would it be deleted to make room for another one?

Does anyone have any examples of a working chat room?

Thanks All!

mark

lol, sorry, that's the funniest spelling/typo/mess-up I've seen in a long time.

Cheers,

Rich (with images of piers stretching out for miles connecting each other and swapping mp3s)

Go to phpHeaven.net and download phpMyChat. It's free and it works quite well.

p.s. The correct spelling is "peer-to-peer." A pier is
Quote: "1: an intermediate support for the adjacent ends of two bridge spans 2: a structure(as a breakwater) extending into navigable water for use as a landing place or promenade or to protect or form a harbor 3: a vertical structural support: as a: the wall between two openings b: PILLAR, PILASTER c: a vertical member that supports the ends of an arch or lintel d: an auxiliary mass of masonry used to stiffen a wall 4: a structural mount(as for a telescope) usu. of stonework, concrete,or steel."

DB does not make web applications. hyrichter's advice is a good starting point for an alternate solution.
