You are asking for constructive criticism so i'll do my best given the circumstances (bearing in mind your hardly in my good books anyway after your previous flames).
Well seeing as you intend to sell this rather than give it away I have to view your games next to respected shareware software teams like Cornutopia for instance.
Unfortunately I cannot do this, because there is no comparability in quality of any aspect of this game even to most of the free games around here.
Firstly gameplay, in your previous thread you flamed me quite heavily and insisted that graphics didn't matter at all and that gameplay was all important, so I expected a game that played well. Especially as you intend to sell it.
If gameplay is measured in how long I played your game then it scored about 12 seconds, 2 seconds where spent getting the controls right, 4 seconds playing it, and then 6 seconds trying again because I couldn't believe the game was so awful. I exited the game after those two goes and then thought no... it cannot be that bad and loaded it again. I persevered, I really did, got passed the water section and the whole time did not enjoy the game play experience.
What didn't I like about it? Firstly the view is too constrained, if you know the track you can probably go very quickly, if you dont then you go slowly, either way makes no difference, all you have to do is wait for the spires to get out of your way before you pass them.
Exciting stuff.
The game did not have any interactivity that I could see.
Now on to graphics, I know you dont think graphics matter, and to an extent you are right. Civilisation had poor graphics even by standards of the day, but this was because it was a strategy game. This is an arcade game ( I think ) and therefor requires the graphics to look good.
Well they are not awful i'll give you that, and they do have some originality to them. They are not shareware standard, in fact there are many many freeware titles that put the graphics here to shame, but to gripe I have with the graphics isn't the actual artistry at all, it's the way they've been coded.
The train goes through the landscape, there's some kind of hill or is it a forest? The train just passes through it rather than passes over it. The graphic, whatever it is (some kind of green splodge), does not appear to be a tunnel, and sometimes doesnt completely obscure the train but passes through half of it. That and the lack of any kind of special effect as the train went over the water really showed.
Musically I see the inspiration, Railroad Tycoon, it's quite good at first, but I am sad to report I soon found it infuriating. I did not notice any other sound effect at all, i'm not sure, but I think I heard something whilst hovering waiting for a spire to rotate.
So far on gameplay, graphics and sound i'd rate this game as very very poor indeed. If you where releasing it for free i'd probably think the same, but have been kinder in my delivery.
However the game does have some good elements and it would not be fair for me to finish off without mentioning them.
The framerate appears good, on my machine it was smooth and I noticed no slow down at all.
Sorry to say I cant think of anything else at the moment, but if anything occurs to me i'll be sure to mention it - unless of course you just want to launch in to one of your violent mood swings in which case ... i'll leave you to it.
God created the world in 7 days, but we're still waiting for the patch.
