Hi, I'm new to DARKbasic Programming and I want to start learning it... I don't know weather I should buy DARKbasic or DARKbasic Pro. Is DBPro harder to use? Should I buy the beginners guide to DARKbasic PRogramming or is it pointless because the program comes with instructions? Could you help me with theese questions?

I'd advise you to go for DBP, as DBC is now outdated, and is no longer being updated. It is also not much harder to use than DBC, so that shouldnt be a problem. About the book, it really depends. The manual that comes with DBP isn't brilliant, but you might want to have a crack at DBP looking at a few tuts before you decide whether to get the book or not.

Its not a bug, its a feature!

That's great... Does the beginners guide only cover darkbasic or does it cover PRO aswell? Also, is the code different in DB and DBPro?

DBPro has some new commands and some DBC command aren't there.

Programming code sounds much more boring than just looking at what you are making instead of a load of code... Would you say that code is easier or makes better games?

The book starts out covering both DBC and DBP, but after a while it covers commands only available in Pro or if you have the enhancement pack for DBC. If you are completely new to programming it's a nice place to start.

The programming part can become a bit tedious, but also can any type of work in life, and creating a game is definitely a lot of work. That's not to say you must write the whole thing before running the game, you can run the program at any time to see your progress.

As to your question

The answer could vary. Using DarkBasic code is easier than making everything in C++. But the easiest by far would be some game creation tool where you click buttons and the game comes together like that. But usually these are limited and really not worth the money or your time. If you were looking for a career in game development don't be disheartened, though. Game development has become to big that you need all different types of professionals working to get the finished product.

Thanks, I think i'll buy DARKbasic and make some money, using the beginners guide. I don't care if it is boring or takes a while because even though I want to have fun making games I want money more. I bought the 3d game maker and the problem is that it doesent let you make anything original. IT's a bit of fun though...
