Hi I'm lee,
Is there anyway you can get Darkbasic to load a notepad file (and maybe create one!). I want to make a guitar tab database but would need to use notepad to make the tabs so that the user could make his own. Then they would show up in Darkbasic under the song/band name. Thanks a lot. I'm sure of seen a similar code somewhere but can't find it now. Cheers.

Yes it is definatly possible to implement a system like that. Check the help files and look under file and text commands. Check open to read and open to write. Thoughs can be used to read and write to a txt file.

It would really be helpful to you, if the text files created had a standard display on how they're written. I had a tutorial on my website about how to create a basic database, which is what you want to do. Unfortunately, the site was deleted and I'm not going into an explanation. I'll try to repost it somewhere if you like.
