i am trying to create a 2d animation program with basic 'flip-book features' and some extras and was wondering a few things - can dark basic v1.12 enhanced access dlls for third party commands and are there any cheap/free compilers i could make the dlls with (something like basic or pascal, but i'll go for anything.)
any replies would be much appreciated
p.s. do you think i should get a team for this - i don't know quite how daunting the task will be

Heyyy!!!

I was making a "2D animation program" myself . I wonder why i stopped o.. right... i remember, i was to busy with the exams and all . Enchanced CAN read DLL's . One of the features of Enchanced he. But WHY do you need DLL's to make a "animation builder" ??. I've made my 2d animation builder very easy with functions and it works ok . It only needs some interface and some nice stuff to add (effects etc.).

So i geuss i'm not really sure of what you're trying to do here.

Let me know.

Hope i've helped,

well, i was wondering about dlls because of some more complex features like lip syncing i was thinking of putting in, i'm not good enough to make features like this yet but when i do i don't know whether db can do it or make vector images - another feature i would like and writing to .gif files. by the way, what sort of things did you include in your animation program, i'm not sure quite where to start.
thanks for answering

Hey,

As for as i know DB can only write .bmp and no .gif. So you'll probably need a DLL for that one. I'm not actually sure what "lip syncing" means. But anyway..

What i included in my 2d animation program. Is the animation (duh..).. the user can load several pictures in different slots. then he can set a time that the other picture should show up (like a slideshow). When i wanted to make some effects and some user interface the exams started and my mom keep pushin me to learn .

I see if i can find that little project of mine

Thanks and by the way, lip sync is where you create mouth movements to match the speech, there are lip sync tools in programs such as toon boom studio (i won't be able to program this for a long time!) and 3d applications. Lip sync makes sure your animations don't look badly dubbed. I'm creating this program specifically for aid me in an anime project.

Hey!

I found that little peace of code . It's not the newest version but i can't seem to find the newest anywhere . Anyway this one hasn't got any friendly user interface at all. But you're a programmer so you can figure it out. it's not much it's really only the basics of animation programming. But maybe you can do something with it.

Hope i've helped,

Hi,
I'm in a kind of "team" with Dream And We were building a game maker, something like the 3D game maker. The difference is that the game maker we make is 2D, you can create simple 2D games with it ( that is the plan.. ) It's called MagEasy. A 2D game need sprites, so we were building an character creator in it, with an... animation maker .

And i've got a shot of the latest version we were working on.

The game maker is far from complete.. I'll hope that Dream and I continue with the project,it was going good and we haven't got big problems while developing a while ago, so i think that it's possible to finish if we continue the project.

cheers,

jopie

if I = 1 then I = 1 else I = 0

Current project>> "MagEasy" simple 2D game creator..
