Hi,

I've been searching for a way to just open Darkbasic.dba files in DarkEdit trough a command line, for example: darkedit blabla.dba and then that darkedit opens with blabla.dba in it already.

This for Total Commander, I could just double click on a dba and bam, its there, in darkedit.

Anyone know of a way? Thnx.

I'm using XP, but it should be similar:

Fire up explorer. Tools->Folder Options->File Types, then scroll down the listbox and look for DBA. Select DBA, then below the listbox there's a button labeled "Change..." so click it. In the new dialog box that pops up, click browse and look for your darkedit executable. That's it.

If that doesn't work for some reason, just right click any DBA file, Open With->Choose Program. Click Browse and look for the darkedit exe. Don't forget to tick the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" check box.

If that still doesn't work, right click a DBA file, Properties, then click the "Change" button, Click Browse, look for the darkedit exe.

Follow my vague instructions and you should be all set.

Hmmmm I tried that but it keeps opening em with DarkBasic professional (I have that one installed too.)

Basically that shouldn't be a problem for me, but still I'd rather have them open with DarkEdit.

I have DarkEdit 1.56 btw, is there a newer one perhaps?

Thanx btw for your quick reply. and Total Commander rules, I highly recommend it to any developer. And no I have no stocks in Total Commander lol.

What's your OS? I have no problem switching between anything in xp.

btw, 1.56 is the last we'll see of Darkedit. The original author supposedly disappeared (lol) or something. IIRC he also did the DBPro IDE.
