Hi all,
Taken a lil break from vanmesh to put together a little something for the Brazillian release of DBPro. Just last nights work mind! - I had the terrain engine already, just optimised it for islands and set it to load everything from heightmaps and detail maps. The terrain is lighting disabled, so there's no normals or internal lighting affecting the terrain - it's all handled through the terrains vert colours which were generated from the heightmap and a PSP6.0 sculpture (of all things!). Means it runs quite fast, but really the whole point is the water effect, which is very cool.

Nearly put this to bed, but I won't be releasing the source for a while, but I will try and get an exe demo uploaded - then I'm back onto vanmesh.

Very nice!
May I ask how you created the little bumps on the ground you can see in the last picture?

That water effect looks great! wouldn't mind seeing the source Only thing i'd change is the skybox, it looks abit odd with the mountains, if its supposed to be an island just blue sky with a sun somewhere and moving clouds would be perfect.
