Those who didn't read my last i world post;
I world is a tool for creating interactive 'worlds' in minutes and then running them straight away. Features inteligent matrix texturing for ease of use, object placement, item placement, and map property editing. The worlds will be populated by cars, people etc which will all have their own inteligence for pathfinding/combat...

okay, so now i've just implemented object placement. a few screens below show a small city i whipped up in about a minute. i'm yet to finish all the media, but expect more buildings, billboards, overhead monorails, and a whole host of stuff to crash through (boxes and oil barrels and cafes)

more info to come.

That is f*cking beautiful!
Will the worlds be able to export to DarkBASIC Classic?

Very nice, lol, that city looks like its built on a fault line.

Looks like a matrix editer + item placer but the way you did it is realy unique, this will be extreamly useful in the future.

i'm afraid it isnt a tool for creating worlds for your own db projects (at the moment anyway),its a program to make worlds and run them, allowing you to run round your creation wreaking havoc.

looking super good, but can you not remove those lines between each tile? all it takes is some trial and error with the set matrix trim command

Looks nice Perhaps a bigger world grid though? Looks a bit small.

Reminds me of Sim City 4. Which reminds me, must be getting back to that....

*goes off to expand his 600,000 metropolis*

do you think you may ever get it to export? that'd be really awesome!

hmm, looks really nice.

Should be fun to have a whirl with once it's released.

I agree with DT though, the area looks a little smallish, but I guess it was only a test, so shouldn't complain.

Jess.

I may a few more tiles (upto about 50x50), but my aim is really to allow for detailed maps crammed with scenery.

I've now solved the 'lines' problem playing round with the SET MATRIX TRIM command, and im still working on models (houses, jumps, trees, bridges, billboards and loads more). The editor is really working out nice! I'm just not keen on sorting out all the gameplay stuff (car physics/ai, weapons, people ai).

Could you make thre buildings brighter?

I like the bluey glass effect that maxis gets from some of their buildlings. Here are a few pics of ones I especially like:

There's another really good one but I can't find a pic.
