Actually this began as a car physics engine but I havent gotten much work done on it lately because Ive been wasting all my time tooling around in the go cart enjoying the view!

I have it set to run at 60 fps but you can hit the "1" key to set the sync rate to "0"
I get 165 to 175 with sync rate 0

I relaxed the physics a bit to make it a bit more enjoyable
but you may see minor jitters here and there

by the way, the cart and trees are just placeholders! I know they suck!

cursor keys control
up = gas
down = handbrake
left and right = steering
"1" = sync rate 0
"2" = sync rate 60
6.2 meg

hmm really good, but I think the way the vehical is basicly glued to the terrain takes away from it because it seems a big gittery when standing still and turning. Other then that it looked really good!

yeah right now its using 2d physics( working on 3d now, actually reading a physics book and translating to code as I read). Since for every couple lines of code I spend about 20 minutes driving around the countryside, figured some people may get a kick out of it.

OK I think for some reason most of the errors were in the texture generation routine for the landscape object... took out the whole section of code and replaced it with a pre rendered Texture. No memblocks, less media ... hopefully it works for everyone now.

Sounds like an old bitmap switching bug, like the screen is being rendered, just not to the physical screen.

I'd double check that startup code and make sure the last thing you do before entering into the main loop is to set the current bitmap back to 0. It's probably a good idea to reorganise the startup routine as well, get it split into gosubs and nice and neat - maybe even post some test code of the setup so we can test it and maybe even spot the problem.
