It's a basic tutorial, but it explains a bit on how to code tile/platform collision, gravity and jumping. It's not special, but I like adding new tutorials on my site

Just what I have been looking for!!!!


Only thing I could think of is that maybe you could give more detail or add remarks to your code to make it more understandable.

Other than that Great Job... I will have to see if I can make a pacman sort of game sometime.

If movement is all tile-based, then why do you need to check a region of tiles? You can pinpoint which tile your in and thus only need to have 1 collision check.

What if your using a sprite that's bigger than your tiles?

ooooo. I also didn't think about what if your character's movement isn't tile-based, like zelda.

OOSKA, you dont really move sprites....you can, but the most common way to "move" then is just to redraw them at a different location...
